C major: three notes played together
A chord is several notes played at the same time. C major = C + E + G: thumb, middle finger and pinky (1-3-5), skipping every other white key.
All three notes should sound together, as one.
Whole notes, then half notes, then quarter notes: the same chord, more and more often.
The chord’s notes one after another (C-E-G-E), then all together.
